Dr. Lauren Hanyok

Secretary of Confections (SECCONFEC)

Dr. Hanyok oversees the baking operations of nearly 789,000 civilians across the globe who execute the research, development, procurement, and production of national priority confections.

Accomplishments

  • Awarded the Presidential Cookie of Freedom in 2011.
  • Improved the average Crunchiness Index Score (CIS) of confectionary products in the Northeast Region by no fewer than 5 points, while working in the Department of Consumption.

Mr. Jonathan Hopkins

Undersecretary of Confections (UNSECCONFEC)

Mr. Hopkins manages the fiscal, legal, and congressional government bakespace operations and covers a wide range of supporting functions for SECCONFEC.

Accomplishments

  • Established the BAKEWurx Innovation Cell.
  • HENS Act, which provides egg subsidies to underserved communities.
  • Reduced Bakeware Costs by 27% while leading BAKECOM
  • 3-time winner of CDH Man of the Year.
  • Graced the cover of the US Department of Starvation Reduction, Eating and Drinking Weekly 15 times.

Mr. Eric Shields

Deputy Secretary of Confections (DEPSECCONFEC)

Mr. Shields is responsible for managing the Secretariat and with it, confectionary policy and programs to meet congressional mandates.

Accomplishments

  • Second most prolific auditor in the Department’s history.
  • Quoted during his confirmation hearing as saying “What I’ll confirm, Senator, is that I believe that all Americans deserve a crispy chocolate chip.”
  • Credited with improving the the Department’s 5S efforts
